Commercial Finance Analyst - FMCG

About the Role

Our client is seeking a commercially-minded Finance Analyst to join their team in Brighton , supporting their significant operations within the FMCG sector. This role will be integral in providing financial insights and analysis to drive strategic decision-making across commercial functions, including sales, marketing, and category management. You will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and identifying key drivers of profitability. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified finance professional to work closely with business leaders in a fast-paced consumer goods environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses for key commercial areas of the FMCG business.
• Provide insightful financial support and analysis to sales, marketing, and category teams to inform commercial strategies.
• Develop and maintain management reporting tools and dashboards to track performance against targets.
• Analyze pricing, promotion, and new product launch effectiveness to drive profitability.
• Support ad-hoc financial modeling and business case development for strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Part-qualified or newly qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in a financial analysis or commercial finance role, ideally within the FMCG or consumer goods industry.
• Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and BI tools is desirable.
