Brewer Morris have been exclusively engaged to partner with a FTSE 250 business currently searching for a Commercial Finance Director in a newly created role. The business has a strong reputation for innovation, operational excellence and sustainable growth. Operating across multiple markets and geographies, the organisation has built an impressive track record through a combination of organic growth, strategic investment and a people-focused culture.
This is a broad and highly visible role which combines strategic finance leadership, business partnering and operational oversight. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation and its multiple seperate entities, you will play a key role in driving commercial performance, enhancing financial decision making and supporting long-term business objectives. The business offers a flexible working model and is seeking an individual who can combine strong technical finance expertise with commercial acumen and the ability to influence at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior business leaders to support strategic decision making and drive financial performance
- Deliver insightful financial analysis, reporting and forecasting to support growth initiatives
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes
- Monitor business performance, identifying risks, opportunities and areas for improvement
- Develop and enhance KPI reporting and performance management frameworks
- Support investment decisions through robust financial analysis and business case evaluation
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, systems and controls
- Ensure strong financial governance, compliance and risk management across the business
- Build effective relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders across multiple locations
- Support strategic projects, business transformation initiatives and commercial opportunities
- Contribute to acquisition, integration and investment-related activities where required
- Coach, develop and mentor finance talent across the organisation
- Deputise for senior finance leadership colleagues when required
The Successful Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a commercially minded finance leader who combines strong technical capability with exceptional stakeholder management skills. You will enjoy operating in a fast-paced environment, be naturally curious and possess the ability to influence and challenge constructively. This role requires an individual who can balance strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and who is comfortable working across a broad range of financial and operational matters.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Significant post-qualified experience within a senior commercial finance leadership role
- Strong financial planning and analysis experience
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive business performance
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning processes
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial information into business insights
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Experience operating within a complex, multi-site or international environment
- Track record of delivering process improvements and driving change
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and compliance
- Highly collaborative with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Ability to operate effectively in a flexible and fast-moving business environment
