About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their dedicated team, providing essential maintenance and installation services across Portsmouth and the surrounding areas. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of commercial heating and gas systems in various business environments. You will be responsible for a range of tasks, from routine servicing and safety checks to the installation of new systems and the repair of faults. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, a commitment to safety, and excellent problem-solving abilities, contributing to the reliable operation of essential services for commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities

Install, service, and repair commercial boilers, water heaters, and other gas-fired appliances.
Conduct mandatory gas safety inspections and issue relevant certificates.
Diagnose and rectify faults in commercial gas systems, ensuring minimal disruption to clients.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals for installation and repair work.
Perform preventative maintenance to ensure the longevity and efficiency of gas systems.
Respond to emergency call-outs to address urgent gas-related issues.

Requirements

Certified Commercial Gas Engineer with relevant qualifications (e.g., CCN1, CPA1, MET1, etc.).
Minimum of 3 years' experience working with commercial gas installations and maintenance.
Strong understanding of commercial heating systems, pipework, and controls.
Ability to perform MIG welding and soldering on pipework as required.
Excellent knowledge of current gas safety regulations and best practices.
Must hold a valid driving license and be able to travel throughout the Portsmouth area.
