About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their established team servicing the Southampton area. This role is critical for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of gas-fired heating and hot water systems within commercial properties. You will be responsible for installations, routine servicing, emergency repairs, and safety checks, providing a vital service to businesses. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in commercial gas systems, excellent diagnostic skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest safety standards, working proactively to prevent issues and respond effectively to call-outs.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair commercial boilers, warm air heaters, and associated pipework.
- Conduct mandatory gas safety inspections and issue Landlord Gas Safety Records (LGSRs).
- Diagnose faults in gas appliances and systems, carrying out necessary repairs efficiently.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and energy efficiency.
- Respond to emergency calls, providing timely and effective solutions to gas-related issues.
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work undertaken in the Southampton region.
Requirements
- Full commercial gas qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1A, and relevant appliance certs).
- Significant experience working as a Commercial Gas Engineer.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of commercial gas appliances.
- Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Full UK driving license and commitment to serving the Hampshire area.
