Commercial Gas Engineer – £55,000 + Vehicle + Great Career development

Location: Central London / M25 Base: Stratford / NE London Salary: £55,000 Call-Out: 1 in 6 – £150 per week standby allowance Holiday: 25 days + Bank Holidays Pension: 3% Vehicle: Company vehicle provided

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join an established building services / facilities management operation, covering a portfolio of commercial properties generally within Central London and the M25.

This is a genuinely mobile commercial gas position, ideal for an engineer based in Essex, East London or South East London who can comfortably travel around the M25 and get to the company's NE London office when required for parts, equipment and support.

The role offers a good mix of planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, fault finding, servicing, repairs and compliance work across commercial buildings and plant rooms.

The Role

As a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of commercial gas and mechanical building services equipment, including:

• Commercial boilers / burners and heating systems

• Warm air heating units / Radiant tube heaters

• Gas controls and associated equipment

• Plant room equipment

• Mechanical building services

• Fault finding and reactive repairs

• Planned preventative maintenance

• Gas safety and compliance checks

• Tightness testing, purging and flue checks

• Installation and commissioning

• Supporting plant room upgrades and mechanical works

• Completing service reports, job sheets and compliance documentation

• Liaising professionally with clients and site representatives

You will work largely across commercial buildings within the City and the M25, managing your own workload while working closely with the wider engineering and FM team.

There is a 1-in-6 call-out rota, with a £150 per week standby allowance when on call plus usual enhanced rates time n half / double time etc, min 4 hours when called out at enhanced rate.

What We're Looking For

You should be an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer with a strong background in commercial heating, plant rooms, building services, facilities management or mechanical contracting.

You will need:

• Current Commercial ACS qualifications

• COCN1 or CODNCO1

• Experience servicing and repairing commercial boilers

• Strong commercial gas fault-finding experience

• Experience with commercial heating systems and plant rooms

• Good knowledge of gas safety and compliance

• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload

• Full UK driving licence

• Good communication and customer service skills

Additional qualifications such as CIGA1, CORT1, ICPN1 and TPCP1/TPCP1A are highly desirable, depending on your experience and portfolio.

Other useful qualifications include:

CCN1, MET1, NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing & Heating or Mechanical Engineering, G3 Unvented Hot Water, IPAF / PASMA, First Aid
