This role is critical in assessing and pricing commercial risks, developing profitable business for the company while adhering to underwriting guidelines. You will work closely with brokers and agents, building strong relationships and providing expert advice on risk appetite and coverage solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate commercial insurance applications, analyzing risks and determining appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents, understanding their business needs and offering tailored insurance solutions.
- Monitor the performance of a designated book of business, identifying trends and implementing strategies for profitable growth.
- Ensure compliance with all company underwriting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with claims and actuarial departments to gather data and insights for risk assessment and pricing models.
- Keep abreast of market developments, industry trends, and competitor activities to inform underwriting strategies.
Requirements
- Significant experience as an Insurance Underwriter , specifically within the commercial lines sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment , financial analysis, and pricing methodologies for various commercial risks.
- Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage a complex workload, and make sound underwriting decisions.
