Commercial Manager - Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Commercial Manager with extensive experience in the construction industry to join their team in a fully remote capacity. You will be responsible for overseeing all commercial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring profitability, effective contract management, and sound financial controls. This remote role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of commercial best practices. You will play a vital role in the financial success and risk management of projects managed from afar.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual matters relating to construction projects from inception to completion.
• Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise project profitability and minimise financial risks.
• Oversee the tendering process, including the preparation, submission, and negotiation of bids and contracts.
• Manage variations, claims, and disputes, ensuring timely and favourable resolutions.
• Provide commercial advice and support to project teams, ensuring compliance with contract terms.
• Conduct cost analysis and financial forecasting, reporting on project financial performance to senior management.

Requirements

• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
• Significant experience (8+ years) as a Commercial Manager in the construction sector .
• In-depth knowledge of various contract forms (e.g., NEC, JCT) and their commercial implications.
• Strong negotiation, financial management, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities, suitable for managing remote teams and stakeholders.
• Proven track record of successfully managing the commercial aspects of large-scale construction projects.
