Location: East Sussex – Brighton – Hybrid
Permanent: £85K-£100K + Car Allowance, Bonus
Are you an experienced Commercial Manager or Managing Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of major infrastructure projects?
Our client is seeking a commercially driven leader to oversee the commercial performance of a portfolio of high-value projects. While experience within the water sector would be advantageous, it is by no means essential. We are keen to speak with candidates from any major infrastructure background who can demonstrate strong NEC contract expertise, leadership capability, and full commercial accountability.
The Role
As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for:
Leading and developing commercial teams across multiple projects Owning the overall commercial performance and financial outcomes of your portfolio Managing client and stakeholder relationships Ensuring robust contract administration under NEC contracts Driving value, risk management, and commercial strategy throughout project delivery Supporting the successful delivery of complex infrastructure schemes
About You
We are interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
Experience operating at Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager level Strong NEC contract knowledge and practical application A proven track record of managing commercial teams Full commercial ownership of projects, including reporting, forecasting, risk and opportunity management Experience within major infrastructure sectors such as civil engineering, rail, highways, utilities, energy, aviation, defence, or water What's Important?
We're not solely looking for a technically strong Quantity Surveyor. This role requires a genuine commercial leader who can provide strategic direction, lead people, and take accountability for the commercial success of their projects.
