Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Solicitor to join a well-established and growing law firm based in Hull. This role is ideal for a solicitor with 4-5 years PQE who has experience advising commercial clients, within the agricultural sector and on planning and development matters.
You will work with a broad range of clients including agricultural businesses, landowners, developers, SMEs, and corporate organisations, providing commercially focused legal advice across a varied caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own caseload of company commercial matters from instruction through to completion.
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
- Advise on business sales and acquisitions, shareholder agreements, partnership agreements and corporate restructures.
- Provide legal advice to agricultural clients including farms, estates and rural businesses.
- Advise clients on land development, planning agreements and commercial aspects of development projects.
- Support clients with joint ventures, business expansion and investment transactions.
- Liaise with developers, landowners, accountants, surveyors and other professional advisers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while assisting with business development activities.
- Keep up to date with changes in company, commercial and planning legislation.
- Supervise and mentor junior members of the team where appropriate.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- 4-5 years PQE within Company Commercial law.
- Experience advising agricultural or rural business clients.
- Knowledge of planning and development work would be highly advantageous.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently.
- Excellent client care and communication skills.
- Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
