Commercial Vehicle Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop in Oxford . You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, diagnostic skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will play a vital role in keeping the fleet operational and compliant with all relevant regulations in the Oxfordshire area.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in commercial vehicles.
• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and inspections according to manufacturer specifications.
• Carry out necessary repairs, replacing worn or faulty parts with high-quality replacements.
• Use diagnostic equipment and specialized tools to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time taken.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle Technician or HGV Mechanic.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and hydraulics.
• Valid UK driving licence, preferably with HGV Class 2 entitlement.
