Communications Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and creative Communications Officer to support their public engagement efforts in Cardiff . This role is integral to developing and disseminating key messages across multiple platforms, ensuring clear and consistent communication with stakeholders, the public, and internal teams. You will be instrumental in crafting engaging content, managing digital channels, and contributing to the overall communications strategy of the organization. The successful candidate will have a flair for writing, a good understanding of digital communication tools, and a commitment to promoting the organization's mission effectively within Wales .

Key Responsibilities

• Create and manage engaging content for the company website, social media channels, and newsletters.
• Assist in the planning and execution of communication campaigns and events.
• Respond to media inquiries and support the broader PR team with media relations activities.
• Develop and maintain internal communication channels to keep employees informed and engaged.
• Monitor online conversations and media trends relevant to the organization's sector.
• Support the production of reports, presentations, and other communication materials.

Requirements

• Degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field.
• Proven experience in content creation, social media management, or digital marketing.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media scheduling tools.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Understanding of the media and communications landscape within Cardiff and the wider Welsh context is a plus.
