About the Role
Our client, a growing charity dedicated to advocating for mental health awareness, is seeking an innovative Communications Officer to manage their external communications remotely. You will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that enhance the charity's profile, engage key stakeholders, and promote their vital services. This role requires a creative storyteller with a strong understanding of various communication channels and a passion for making a difference in the mental health sector. You will have the autonomy to shape messaging and reach diverse audiences effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy across all relevant channels (website, social media, email, press releases).
- Create engaging and impactful content, including articles, blog posts, social media updates, and campaign materials.
- Manage the charity's social media platforms, fostering community engagement and responding to inquiries.
- Build and maintain relationships with media contacts to secure positive press coverage.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze communication effectiveness, providing regular reports.
- Ensure brand consistency and accurate representation of the charity's mission and values in all communications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Communications Officer or similar role, preferably within the charity sector .
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong copywriting and editing abilities.
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools.
- Experience with website content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively in a remote setting.
- A deep understanding of and passion for mental health advocacy.
