About the Role
Our client, a respected charity organization, is looking for a creative and strategic Communications Officer to manage their public relations and outreach efforts. Based in Edinburgh, you will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that raise awareness of the charity's work, engage stakeholders, and enhance its public profile. This role is essential for ensuring our client's message is effectively conveyed to the public, donors, and beneficiaries, driving support and understanding. While the role is office-based, it offers a chance to be at the heart of impactful storytelling within the charity sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive communication and marketing strategies.
- Create engaging content for various channels, including press releases, social media, website, and newsletters.
- Manage media relations, respond to press inquiries, and build relationships with journalists.
- Oversee the charity's social media presence, ensuring consistent branding and messaging.
- Organize and promote public events and awareness campaigns.
- Monitor media coverage and analyze the effectiveness of communication activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Communications Officer or similar role, preferably within the non-profit sector.
- Excellent writing, editing, and public speaking skills.
- Proficiency in social media management tools and digital marketing principles.
- Experience in media relations and crisis communication is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
