Community Engagement Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dynamic and motivated Community Engagement Officer to join their team in Edinburgh . This role is crucial for building and maintaining strong relationships with diverse community groups, stakeholders, and local residents. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engagement strategies that foster collaboration, promote our client's services, and gather valuable community feedback. The position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team, blending office-based responsibilities with fieldwork within the Edinburgh area to drive meaningful community connections.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and execute targeted community engagement plans to reach and involve various demographic groups.
• Organise and facilitate community events, workshops, consultations, and information sessions, both in-person and virtually.
• Build and nurture positive relationships with community leaders, local organisations, schools, and other stakeholders.
• Develop and disseminate engaging communication materials, including newsletters, social media updates, and flyers, to inform the community.
• Gather, analyse, and report on community feedback, insights, and needs to inform service development and strategic planning.
• Represent the organisation at community meetings, forums, and public events, acting as a key point of contact.

Requirements

• Proven experience in community engagement , public relations, social work, or a related field.
• Excellent understanding of community development principles and best practices in stakeholder engagement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
• Experience in event planning and organisation, as well as content creation for various communication channels.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, with good organisational skills.
• Flexibility to travel within the Edinburgh region and occasionally work outside standard office hours for events.
