Community Inclusion Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic Community Inclusion Officer to join their team in Sheffield . This role is focused on promoting social inclusion and enabling individuals, particularly those facing barriers, to participate fully in community life. You will work to identify opportunities, develop support mechanisms, and empower individuals to engage with local activities and services. This hybrid position requires a blend of community-based work to understand local needs and engage directly with individuals, alongside remote or office-based tasks for planning, coordination, and reporting. You will be a champion for inclusion within the South Yorkshire community.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to promote social inclusion for diverse community members.
• Work with individuals to identify their interests and support needs for community participation.
• Establish and maintain links with local groups, services, and activities to create pathways for inclusion.
• Organize and facilitate inclusive community events and activities.
• Provide practical support and guidance to individuals to help them overcome barriers to participation.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of inclusion initiatives, gathering feedback for improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in a community development , support, or social inclusion role.
• Good understanding of issues affecting social exclusion and barriers to participation.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
• Ability to engage positively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for communication and project management.
• Willingness to travel within the Sheffield area and work flexibly, including some evenings/weekends.
