Community Outreach Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and proactive Community Outreach Worker to join their dedicated team in Cardiff . This role is central to identifying and engaging with individuals in the community who require support, ensuring they are aware of and can access available services. You will be a visible and trusted point of contact, building relationships and providing guidance to help people overcome barriers and improve their quality of life. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for direct community engagement and a commitment to empowering individuals.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively engage with individuals and groups within the community to identify support needs.
• Provide information, advice, and guidance on available services and resources.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with service users, local organisations, and stakeholders.
• Assist service users in accessing support, including appointments and benefit claims.
• Organise and facilitate community drop-in sessions or information events.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities and client engagement.

Requirements

• Experience in community work, social care, or a similar frontline role.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
• A strong understanding of the issues affecting individuals in the local community.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and be proactive in outreach efforts.
• Good record-keeping and administrative skills.
• A driving license and access to a vehicle may be required for some aspects of the role.
