About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and community-focused Community Sports Development Coordinator to drive sports participation and engagement across Norwich and surrounding areas. This role is pivotal in creating and delivering accessible sports programmes that cater to diverse demographics, encouraging physical activity and promoting healthy lifestyles. You will work closely with local authorities, schools, sports clubs, and community groups to identify needs and develop impactful initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a range of community sports programmes and events, tailored to local needs.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify barriers to participation and develop strategies to overcome them.
- Promote sports and physical activity opportunities to various community groups, including underserved populations.
- Support local sports clubs and organisations in their development and sustainability efforts.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness and impact of sports development initiatives.
- Seek and manage funding opportunities to support community sports projects.
Requirements
- Experience in sports development, community engagement, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of sports development principles and best practices in promoting physical activity.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging programmes for diverse age groups and abilities.
