About the Role
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Community Sports Development Officer to promote and expand sports participation across Wolverhampton . This exciting role involves designing, implementing, and managing a range of sports programs and initiatives aimed at increasing community engagement, improving health outcomes, and fostering talent development. You will work closely with local schools, sports clubs, community groups, and volunteers to create accessible and inclusive sporting opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. The successful candidate will be passionate about the power of sport to create positive social change and possess excellent project management and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver targeted sports development programs in line with strategic objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including schools, local authorities, and sports governing bodies.
- Organize and facilitate sports events, festivals, and outreach activities within the community.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist with program delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of sports development initiatives, providing reports on outcomes and participant feedback.
- Promote sports participation opportunities through various communication channels.
Requirements
- Experience in sports development, community engagement, or a related field .
- Strong understanding of sports participation barriers and strategies to overcome them.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and planning skills.
- Proficiency in communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for promoting health, well-being, and social inclusion through sport.
