Community Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a passionate and proactive Community Sports Development Officer to drive sports participation and engagement across Southampton . You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative sports programs, building partnerships with local schools and community groups, and inspiring people of all ages and abilities to get involved in physical activity. This role is pivotal in fostering a healthier, more active community through the power of sport.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, manage, and evaluate community sports programs and initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local stakeholders, including schools, clubs, and community organisations.
• Promote sports activities and events, increasing awareness and participation rates.
• Identify opportunities for funding and grants to support sports development projects.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers to assist with program delivery.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, community outreach, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of sports coaching principles and program design.
• Excellent project management, communication, and networking skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse community groups and promote inclusivity.
• A relevant qualification in sports science, sports management, or a related discipline is advantageous.
