Community Sports Development Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a passionate and driven Community Sports Development Officer to promote and expand sports participation across various age groups and abilities in Southampton . You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating community sports programs, building partnerships with local schools, clubs, and organisations. This role requires a proactive individual dedicated to increasing physical activity levels and fostering a lifelong love for sport within the Hampshire community. You will be a key figure in making sports accessible to everyone.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a diverse range of community sports programs and events.
• Engage with local schools, community groups, and sports clubs to identify needs and opportunities.
• Promote sports participation and healthy lifestyles through outreach activities.
• Secure funding and manage budgets for community sports initiatives.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of programs, reporting on outcomes and successes.

Requirements

• Experience in sports development, coaching, or community outreach.
• Strong understanding of sports participation strategies and barriers.
• Excellent project management, communication, and networking skills.
• Ability to engage with diverse community groups.
• Relevant qualifications in sports science, coaching, or a related field are preferred.
