About the Role
Our client is seeking a compassionate and motivated Community Support Worker to join their team in Birmingham , contributing to essential Community & Social Care services. This role involves providing direct support to individuals in their own homes and within community settings, enabling them to live more independently and improve their quality of life. You will be instrumental in fostering a sense of well-being and social inclusion for a diverse range of clients, working in a role that demands empathy, reliability, and excellent interpersonal skills. This hybrid role allows for both direct client interaction and administrative tasks, offering a balanced approach to community care delivery in the vibrant city of Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and domestic chores.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities.
- Support clients in accessing community resources, appointments, and social events.
- Administer medication as prescribed, following strict protocols and reporting any concerns.
- Monitor client well-being and report any changes or concerns to the care coordinator promptly.
- Collaborate with families and other care professionals to ensure a coordinated support plan.
Requirements
- Experience in a caregiving or support role is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- A caring and empathetic attitude towards vulnerable individuals.
- Willingness to undertake training and develop new skills.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (for community visits).
