About the Role
Our client is looking for an empathetic and proactive Community Support Worker to join their team in Birmingham . This role involves providing essential support to individuals in their own homes and within the local community, enabling them to live independently and with dignity. You will be a key point of contact, offering practical assistance, emotional support, and encouraging engagement with community activities. This is a rewarding position for someone passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of others and fostering a sense of inclusion and well-being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred care and support to clients in their homes, assisting with daily living tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, and domestic chores.
- Support clients to access community resources, attend appointments, and participate in social and recreational activities.
- Develop and maintain positive and trusting relationships with clients, their families, and support networks.
- Monitor clients' well-being and report any changes or concerns to the line manager or relevant professionals promptly.
- Assist clients with medication management as per agreed care plans and protocols.
- Promote client independence and empowerment, encouraging them to make choices about their own care and support.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a care or support role is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
- A compassionate and patient demeanour with a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
