Complex Needs Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Complex Needs Support Worker to join their specialised team in Oxford . This role is for individuals who are passionate about supporting those with complex and challenging needs, including learning disabilities, autism, and mental health conditions, to live as independently as possible. You will provide tailored, person-centered care, helping clients to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life, and integrate fully into their communities. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, person-centered support to individuals with complex needs, assisting with personal care, daily living, and community access.
• Develop and implement effective support strategies and care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Manage challenging behaviours calmly and effectively, using de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support plans.
• Administer medication as prescribed and ensure accurate record-keeping of all care provided.
• Promote independence, choice, and social inclusion by encouraging engagement in meaningful activities and community life.
• Liaise effectively with families, external agencies, and the wider care team to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to support.

Requirements

• Previous experience supporting individuals with complex needs , including learning disabilities, autism, or mental health challenges, is essential.
• A strong understanding of person-centered planning, safeguarding, and positive behaviour support.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and in challenging situations.
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care is highly desirable.
• A genuine commitment to promoting dignity, respect, and independence for all clients.
