Compliance Officer - Financial Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and meticulous Compliance Officer to bolster their team in Belfast . This critical role ensures adherence to all relevant financial regulations and internal policies, safeguarding the company's integrity and reputation within the highly regulated Northern Irish financial sector. You will play a key part in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance frameworks, conducting risk assessments, and advising stakeholders on regulatory requirements. This is a remote position, offering significant flexibility while maintaining the vital oversight needed in financial services compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures in line with FCA regulations and other relevant UK laws.
• Conduct regular compliance monitoring, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Investigate compliance breaches, recommend corrective actions, and track their implementation.
• Provide expert advice and training to staff on compliance matters, fostering a culture of regulatory awareness.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, such as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), on behalf of the firm.
• Stay abreast of changes in financial legislation and regulatory requirements, updating internal policies accordingly.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years' experience in a compliance role within the financial services industry , ideally within a UK regulated environment.
• In-depth knowledge of the FCA Handbook , Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and data protection regulations.
• Proven ability to conduct compliance audits and risk assessments.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organization.
