Compliance Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a vigilant and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role is vital for ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies within the highly regulated banking & finance sector. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, conducting audits, and providing guidance to staff on regulatory matters. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
• Monitor adherence to regulations (e.g., FCA, PRA) and internal controls across all business operations.
• Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
• Investigate compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions, escalating significant issues as needed.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors as required.
• Provide ongoing advice and support to management and employees on compliance-related matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field; professional compliance qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within the financial services or banking industry.
• Strong knowledge of UK financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience working in a hybrid model, adept at managing responsibilities both in-office and remotely.
