About the Role
Our client is seeking a vigilant and experienced Compliance Officer to join their team in Belfast . This critical role involves ensuring the organization adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies within the highly regulated Banking & Finance sector. You will play a key part in developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and fostering a culture of ethical conduct throughout the firm. This position offers the chance to work in a hybrid model, combining office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies and procedures accordingly.
- Investigate potential compliance breaches and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance matters and ethical standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during examinations and inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Significant experience (4+ years) in compliance, risk management, or internal audit within the Banking & Finance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant financial regulations (e.g., AML, KYC, GDPR, FCA rules).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly.
- Professional certifications such as CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent are highly desirable.
