About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Computer Science Teacher to join their forward-thinking school in Derby . You will be responsible for teaching Computer Science to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 , inspiring them with the principles of computation, programming, and digital literacy. This hybrid role offers the chance to blend traditional classroom teaching with innovative digital learning strategies, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills in the next generation of tech professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons to students across KS3 and KS4 , covering topics such as programming, algorithms, and digital citizenship.
- Develop and update curriculum content to remain relevant to technological advancements and exam board requirements.
- Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and track progress towards learning objectives.
- Utilize a range of teaching methodologies, including practical coding sessions, theoretical exploration, and project-based learning.
- Foster a passion for computing and encourage students to explore further opportunities in STEM fields.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- A strong academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related IT field.
- Experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++).
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and digital literacy skills.
