About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Computer Vision Engineer to join their innovative R&D team in Edinburgh . This role involves the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge computer vision algorithms and systems that will be integrated into advanced products. You will work on challenging problems related to image recognition, object detection, scene understanding, and augmented reality. The ideal candidate will possess a strong theoretical foundation in computer vision and machine learning, combined with practical experience in building and deploying real-world applications, contributing to the next generation of intelligent visual systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize algorithms for image processing, feature extraction, and pattern recognition.
- Implement and train deep learning models for tasks such as object detection, segmentation, and classification.
- Work with large image and video datasets, including data augmentation and annotation.
- Integrate computer vision modules into larger software systems and applications.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to deploy vision systems on embedded platforms.
- Stay current with the latest research and advancements in the field of computer vision.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a specialization in computer vision.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in developing computer vision applications.
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with experience in libraries like OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Solid understanding of image processing techniques and machine learning fundamentals.
- Experience with deep learning frameworks and architectures relevant to computer vision.
- Familiarity with camera calibration, 3D reconstruction, or augmented reality is a plus.
