About the Role

Our client seeks an experienced Conservation Architect to join their respected practice in Bristol . This specialist role involves safeguarding and restoring historic buildings, ensuring their longevity and character are preserved for future generations. You will undertake detailed surveys, develop sensitive repair strategies, and manage projects involving heritage assets, working closely with conservation officers, heritage bodies, and clients. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed surveys and condition assessments of historic buildings and structures.
• Develop conservation management plans and repair strategies that respect historical significance and fabric.
• Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and tender documents for conservation and restoration projects.
• Act as the principal point of contact for clients, heritage bodies, and regulatory authorities.
• Oversee on-site works to ensure adherence to conservation principles and best practices.
• Advise on appropriate materials, techniques, and technologies for the sensitive alteration and repair of heritage assets in Bristol .

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with a postgraduate qualification or significant experience in Conservation Architecture.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in the conservation and restoration of historic buildings.
• In-depth knowledge of architectural history, materials, and traditional building techniques.
• Familiarity with heritage legislation and policy in the UK .
• Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD for survey and design work.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
