About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialist Conservation Architect to join their dedicated team in Oxford . This role involves the sensitive and expert management of historic buildings and sites, ensuring their preservation and appropriate adaptation for contemporary use. You will play a key role in advising on heritage matters, developing conservation strategies, and overseeing projects that respect the historical integrity of structures. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake condition surveys and provide expert advice on the conservation and repair of historic buildings.
• Develop conservation management plans and design proposals that are sensitive to heritage significance.
• Prepare specifications and manage contracts for conservation and restoration works.
• Liaise with heritage bodies, local authorities, and clients on conservation-related matters.
• Ensure all interventions comply with relevant conservation principles, statutory requirements, and best practices.

Requirements

• Qualified Architect with a postgraduate specialization in Conservation or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience working with historic buildings and heritage assets.
• Thorough knowledge of historical construction techniques, materials, and conservation philosophy.
• Familiarity with heritage legislation and the role of bodies such as Historic England.
• Strong analytical, research, and communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
