About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Conservation Architect to join their team in Bristol . This specialized role involves the sensitive restoration, repair, and adaptation of historic buildings and structures. You will be instrumental in preserving architectural heritage, ensuring that interventions respect the significance and integrity of historic fabric while meeting contemporary needs. This hybrid role allows for flexibility, combining remote work with essential site visits and collaborative sessions within our Bristol office. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed surveys and condition assessments of historic buildings.
• Develop conservation strategies, repair proposals, and specifications for heritage projects.
• Liaise with conservation officers, heritage bodies, and statutory authorities.
• Manage projects involving the restoration, refurbishment, and adaptive reuse of listed buildings.
• Provide expert advice on materials, construction techniques, and regulatory requirements for historic structures.
• Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards of conservation practice.

Requirements

• Professional qualification in Architecture (RIBA or equivalent) with a specialization in conservation.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in conservation architecture, with a strong portfolio of heritage projects.
• In-depth knowledge of historic building materials, construction techniques, and conservation principles.
• Familiarity with legislation and guidance related to historic buildings and conservation areas.
• Proficiency in architectural drawing and documentation, including AutoCAD .
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage projects effectively in a hybrid environment.
