About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and astute Construction Contracts Manager to oversee contractual matters for various projects within the Derby region. This senior role involves managing all aspects of construction contracts, from negotiation and drafting to administration and dispute resolution. You will ensure that all contractual obligations are met by all parties involved, safeguarding the company's interests and ensuring project success. This is a critical position for an individual with a strong legal and commercial acumen in the construction industry across Derbyshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of construction contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and administration.
- Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Advise project teams on contractual rights, obligations, and risks.
- Manage claims, disputes, and variations, seeking timely and cost-effective resolutions.
- Liaise with legal counsel, clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders on contractual matters.
- Monitor contractor performance against contractual terms and conditions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar legal/commercial role within the construction sector.
- In-depth knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
- Strong understanding of contract law and dispute resolution processes.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Degree in Law, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple complex contracts simultaneously.
