About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to oversee contractual matters for projects in and around Nottingham . This vital role involves managing all aspects of construction contracts, from procurement and negotiation through to dispute resolution and project close-out, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk for the company. You will work collaboratively with project teams, legal counsel, and external partners in a hybrid capacity, balancing strategic contract oversight with on-site due diligence. Your expertise will be critical in safeguarding the company's interests and ensuring the successful, legally sound execution of all construction ventures in the Midlands region .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the procurement process for construction contracts, including tender preparation, evaluation, and negotiation.
- Manage all contract administration duties throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
- Provide expert advice on contractual rights, obligations, and risks to project teams and senior management.
- Oversee the management of variations, claims, and dispute resolution processes, aiming for amicable and cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure all contracts align with company policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices.
- Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and legal advisors on contractual matters.
- Review and approve all contract documentation before execution.
Requirements
- A degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Substantial experience (7+ years) as a Contracts Manager or Senior Contracts Specialist in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of various forms of construction contracts (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT) and associated legislation.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage complex contractual issues and provide strategic advice.
