Construction Engineer

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a skilled and practical Construction Engineer to oversee projects on site and in the office, serving the Brighton area and surrounding regions. This role is essential for ensuring that civil engineering projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will bridge the gap between design and on-site delivery, coordinating resources, managing subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with all project specifications and health and safety regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a hands-on role in delivering key infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
• Manage subcontractors and direct site personnel to achieve project milestones.
• Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures on site.
• Conduct site inspections, quality control checks, and progress reporting.
• Liaise with design teams, clients, and stakeholders to resolve site issues and queries promptly.
• Manage site logistics, materials, and equipment efficiently.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related construction management field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction engineering or site management.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Familiarity with contract administration and site documentation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant health and safety qualifications (e.g., SMSTS).
