Construction Estimator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Construction Estimator to join their remote-first team. This role is crucial for accurately forecasting the costs associated with construction projects. You will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator to contribute to a wide range of exciting projects from the comfort of their home office, working collaboratively with project managers and bid teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates .
• Calculate material, labour, and equipment costs, as well as subcontractor bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and present cost information to management and clients.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.
• Identify potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar estimating role.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and costing principles.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Candy, Conquest) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
