Construction Estimator

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and analytical Construction Estimator to join their team in a fully remote capacity. Based anywhere in the UK, you will be responsible for accurately assessing the costs associated with construction projects, from initial bids to final project budgets. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to interpret project requirements, quantify materials, and calculate labour and equipment costs. This role is crucial for ensuring the competitiveness and profitability of our bids. If you have a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of construction economics, this remote opportunity is ideal for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects.
• Quantify materials, labour, and equipment required, obtaining quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop detailed bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness for tender submissions.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to review estimates and provide clarification as needed.
• Maintain a database of project costs, market trends, and supplier pricing for accurate future estimations.
• Ensure all estimates comply with company standards and industry best practices, using remote collaboration tools effectively.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar cost-related role within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing structures.
• Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostX, Candy, Buildsoft) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple estimating tasks simultaneously in a remote environment .
