Construction Foreman

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and hands-on Construction Foreman to lead work crews and manage daily operations on various construction sites in Derby . You will be responsible for directing labour, ensuring work is performed to high standards of quality and safety, and coordinating with site supervisors and project managers. This role requires strong practical knowledge of construction methods, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate teams to achieve project objectives in Derbyshire .

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the daily activities of construction crews, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Interpret blueprints and construction documents to guide work execution.
• Ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards, reporting any deviations.
• Implement and enforce all site safety regulations, conducting regular safety checks and toolbox talks.
• Manage site resources, including materials, tools, and equipment, ensuring they are used effectively.
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and subcontractors regarding work progress and any issues encountered.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or in a similar supervisory role.
• Solid understanding of construction processes, techniques, and best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the construction industry.
• Possession of relevant certifications (e.g., CSCS card) is essential.
