Construction Foreman

About the Role

Our client requires a dedicated and experienced Construction Foreman to lead teams on various projects in and around Edinburgh . You will be responsible for supervising daily site operations, directing labourers and tradespeople, and ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This hands-on role is crucial for maintaining productivity, coordinating tasks, and ensuring the smooth progression of construction activities on site. The ideal candidate will have a strong practical understanding of construction, excellent leadership qualities, and the ability to effectively manage on-site personnel and resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct the work of construction labourers and tradespeople on site.
• Ensure all work is carried out according to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Manage daily site activities, coordinating tasks and ensuring efficient workflow.
• Maintain a safe working environment, enforcing safety procedures and conducting toolbox talks.
• Monitor material and equipment usage, ensuring resources are utilised effectively.
• Report on site progress, issues, and resource needs to the Site Manager or Project Manager.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Foreman or a similar supervisory role in construction.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, tools, and equipment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Good communication skills and the ability to provide clear instructions.
