About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Plymouth . This role is vital in ensuring that all construction sites operate in compliance with health and safety legislation, fostering a culture of safety among all personnel. You will conduct regular site inspections, develop and implement safety policies, and provide training to staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, knowledgeable about safety regulations, and committed to creating a secure working environment for everyone on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures across construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incident reports.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Relevant qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
• In-depth knowledge of construction site safety regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and training skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective safety plans.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
