About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and proactive Construction Health and Safety Officer to join their site team in Edinburgh . This role is paramount in ensuring a safe working environment across all construction activities, upholding the highest standards of health and safety compliance. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies and procedures, conducting site inspections, and providing essential training to site personnel. This is a vital position for maintaining operational integrity and worker well-being on projects in Edinburgh and beyond, within a company that prioritizes safety above all else.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site staff and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incident reports.
• Advise site management on all aspects of health, safety, and environmental management.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety).
• Proven experience in a Health and Safety role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
