Construction Health & Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Construction Health & Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment across their projects in and around Brighton . This role is essential for promoting a strong safety culture, implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. You will conduct regular site inspections, deliver training, and advise management on best practices to prevent accidents and maintain a healthy workplace.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and review the company's health and safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training to site personnel and management.
• Advise management on health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Maintain health and safety records and prepare relevant reports.

Requirements

• NEBOSH National General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Thorough understanding of UK health and safety legislation and construction site safety practices.
• Excellent communication, training, and influencing skills.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective control measures.
• Familiarity with reporting and record-keeping systems is crucial for this hybrid role .
