Construction Health and Safety Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment across their sites in Liverpool . This critical role involves implementing and monitoring health and safety policies, conducting inspections, and providing essential training to site personnel. You will be instrumental in fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a commitment to preventing accidents and promoting wellbeing on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel at all levels.
• Maintain accurate health and safety records, including risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and accident reports.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and site management to ensure adherence to legal requirements.

Requirements

• Recognised qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety).
• Proven experience in a similar H&S role within the construction industry.
• Thorough knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation relevant to construction.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct effective site inspections and audits.
• Strong commitment to promoting a positive safety culture.
