About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Health and Safety Officer to ensure the highest safety standards are maintained across their construction sites in Bristol, South West England, UK . This critical role involves implementing and enforcing health and safety policies, conducting site inspections, and promoting a strong safety culture among all personnel. You will be instrumental in minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, contributing to a safe working environment for everyone involved in the projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety plans for construction projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide health and safety training and toolbox talks to site personnel.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and incident reports.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of current UK health and safety legislation and best practices.
• Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively promote a safety-first culture on site.
