About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Construction Lawyer to join their respected legal team in Derby . This position requires a specialist lawyer to manage a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious construction law matters for prominent clients. You will provide expert legal advice on building contracts, procurement, dispute resolution, and project delivery, playing a key role in ensuring successful project outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on the drafting and negotiation of building contracts, sub-contracts, and consultancy agreements.
• Manage and resolve construction disputes through adjudication, arbitration, and litigation.
• Provide legal support for construction project procurement and financing.
• Advise on planning law, health and safety regulations, and environmental issues related to construction.
• Conduct legal due diligence for construction projects and property developments.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 6 years of experience specialising in construction law .
• Demonstrated expertise in both contentious and non-contentious construction matters.
• Thorough understanding of standard form contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and bespoke agreements.
• Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Ability to manage complex projects and deliver clear, pragmatic legal advice within our Derby office.
