Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and proactive Construction Planner to join their team. This role is site-based, focusing on developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules for various construction projects in the Bradford area. You will be responsible for creating realistic and achievable timelines, identifying critical path activities, and forecasting resource requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of construction sequences and the ability to work closely with site teams and project managers to ensure smooth project execution. Your expertise will be vital in optimizing project delivery and mitigating potential delays.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction project schedules using planning software.
• Identify critical path activities and potential risks to the schedule.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to gather information and validate schedules.
• Produce regular progress reports and look-ahead programmes.
• Assist in the development of resource histograms and allocation plans.
• Review method statements and sequencing for constructability.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or in a similar planning role.
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta PowerProject.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for site-based collaboration.
