About the Role
Our client seeks a skilled Construction Planner to join their growing team, supporting major projects based out of Plymouth . This role is critical in developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules that ensure efficient and timely project completion. You will work collaboratively with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to create realistic timelines, identify critical path activities, and forecast potential delays. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of construction methodologies and project lifecycles, offering a hybrid working arrangement for flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed construction master schedules using project management software.
- Analyze project scope, design documents, and construction methods to create logical sequences of work.
- Identify critical path activities and potential constraints that could impact project timelines.
- Monitor construction progress against the baseline schedule and report on variances.
- Update schedules regularly and develop recovery plans for any identified delays.
- Coordinate planning efforts with site teams, subcontractors, and external consultants.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency with planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or ASTA Powerproject.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, phasing, and resource management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Good communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse project teams.
