About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled and proactive Construction Planner to join their remote team, supporting major construction projects, including those in the Portsmouth area. This role is vital for ensuring the efficient and timely execution of construction projects by developing, maintaining, and communicating detailed project schedules. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create realistic plans, identify potential delays, and propose solutions. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while contributing to impactful construction developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, activities, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule, identifying variances and developing recovery plans.
- Prepare regular progress reports, including delay analysis and look-ahead schedules for various stakeholders.
- Assist in the bidding process by developing preliminary construction schedules and methodologies.
- Conduct 'what-if' scenario planning to assess the impact of changes or disruptions on project timelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Senior Scheduler within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in industry-standard planning software, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, sequencing, and logic development.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and autonomously in a remote environment.
- Good communication and reporting skills, able to present complex information clearly.
