Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Construction Planner to join their team in Derby, Derbyshire, UK . You will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and updating detailed construction project schedules to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of construction sequencing, resource management, and the ability to identify potential risks and bottlenecks. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to create realistic and achievable plans that support project success. This is a key role in optimising project performance and ensuring smooth operations from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed construction project schedules using planning software.
• Collaborate with project teams to define project scope, tasks, and durations.
• Identify critical path activities and potential risks to project timelines.
• Monitor progress against the schedule, reporting variances and implementing corrective actions.
• Resource planning, including labour, plant, and materials, to support the construction schedule.
• Communicate project timelines and updates to all relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or ASTA Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
