About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Construction Planner to develop and manage detailed project schedules for construction projects in Southampton . This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within scope by creating robust plans, identifying critical paths, and mitigating potential delays. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and stakeholders to optimize project timelines and resource allocation, ensuring efficient project execution from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, monitor, and update comprehensive project schedules using planning software.
- Identify critical path activities and potential scheduling risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather information and input for schedule development and updates.
- Prepare detailed look-ahead programmes and present schedule status to stakeholders.
- Analyse project progress against the baseline schedule and report on variances.
- Ensure that schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with project objectives and contractual obligations .
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
- Proficiency in construction planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, or similar.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various project stakeholders in Southampton .
