Construction Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Planner to join their team, supporting projects primarily in the Plymouth region. This role is vital for ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of construction projects through meticulous planning and scheduling. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring comprehensive project schedules, coordinating with various site teams and stakeholders to identify potential conflicts and propose solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and the ability to utilize advanced planning software to optimize project timelines and resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project construction schedules using planning software (e.g., P6, Asta Powerproject).
• Coordinate with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather information for planning.
• Identify critical path activities and potential risks or delays in the project schedule.
• Monitor progress against the baseline schedule and report on performance.
• Develop recovery plans and look-ahead schedules to address deviations.
• Ensure all planning activities comply with project requirements and company standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Planner or Scheduler.
• Proficiency in industry-standard planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with project teams.
